Lead Quantum Scientist

As a leader in the quantum computing space, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Quantum Scientist to drive our research efforts and lead our team of talented quantum physicists and engineers.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Research Leadership:

  • Lead and oversee a team of quantum scientists, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise.
  • Define and execute the company's quantum research agenda, aligning with broader business objectives.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in quantum computing and related fields, incorporating relevant findings into the company's research strategy.

 

Quantum Algorithm Development:

  • Design, develop, and optimize quantum algorithms for various applications, with a focus on solving real-world computational problems.
  • Collaborate closely with software engineers to implement and test quantum algorithms on quantum computing hardware.

 

Hardware Development Collaboration:

  • Work closely with hardware engineers to provide input on the design and development of quantum computing hardware, ensuring it aligns with the company's research goals.
  • Contribute to the optimization and calibration of quantum hardware for specific computational tasks.

 

Experimental Design and Data Analysis:

  • Design experiments to test and validate quantum algorithms on actual quantum hardware.
  • Analyze experimental data and provide insights to refine algorithms and improve performance.

 

Quantum Software Development:

  • Develop software tools and frameworks to facilitate quantum algorithm design, simulation, and execution.
  • Collaborate with the software engineering team to integrate quantum capabilities into broader software platforms.

 

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other teams within the company, such as software engineering, product development, and business development, to drive the successful integration and deployment of quantum solutions.

 

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Quantum Physics, Quantum Computing, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of leading successful quantum research projects.
  • Extensive experience in designing and implementing quantum algorithms.
  • Proficiency in quantum programming languages (e.g., Qiskit, Cirq, Forest).
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Experience with experimental quantum computing and hardware-software co-design is a plus.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
